A document from an interactive, solvable fictional cold case told through official records.
Case Name: Brittany Lynn
Case Number: RH–1993–731
Document Type: Incident Report (Initial)
Date Filed: 09/03/1993
Reporting Officer: Deputy Earl Pritchard
Classification: Active (Missing Juvenile)
At approximately 1547 hours, undersigned deputy responded to 139 Hollow Bend Road in reference to a report of a missing juvenile.
Upon arrival, I made contact with Crystal Lynn, adult female, mother of the juvenile Brittany Lynn, age six.
Ms. Lynn stated that Brittany was expected to return home from school earlier in the afternoon and had not arrived.
Ms. Lynn advised that her mother Mrs. Franny Lynn (juvenile’s grandmother) was present at the residence and had not seen the child return home.
Ms. Lynn reported that the juvenile frequently stops to visit a neighbor, identified as Tilda Wilkes, after getting off the school bus, and will often talk with Ms. Wilkes for a short time before continuing home.
Ms. Lynn advised that this behavior is routine and had not previously caused concern.
Ms. Lynn advised there are no known custody disputes or family issues that would explain the juvenile’s absence.
I made contact with neighbor Tilda Wilkes at her residence.
Ms. Wilkes stated that she observed Brittany Lynn earlier in the afternoon after the child exited the school bus.
Ms. Wilkes advised that she spoke briefly with the juvenile and then went inside her residence at approximately 1500 hours.
Ms. Wilkes stated that at the time she went inside, she observed Brittany walking in the direction of her home at 139 Hollow Bend Road.
Ms. Wilkes advised she did not observe anything unusual and did not see the juvenile again after that time.
I spoke briefly with the juvenile’s grandmother, who stated she was inside the residence for most of the afternoon and did not observe the juvenile arrive home.
Grandmother advised she assumed the juvenile was delayed and did not immediately become concerned.
I conducted a brief exterior check of the immediate area, including front yard and visible roadway.
No signs of disturbance observed.
No personal items located.
No witnesses identified beyond those noted above.
Weather conditions at time of response were overcast with rain expected later in the afternoon.
Based on information provided, the juvenile was entered as missing pending further investigation.
Ms. Lynn was advised to remain available and to notify the Sheriff’s Office immediately if the juvenile returned or any additional information became available.
