PRITCHARD: Mr. Rourke, you were in the Hollow Bend Road area on September third, correct?
MR. ROURKE: Yeah. I stopped by Crystal’s place to see my aunt. Franny. Just for a few minutes.
PRITCHARD: What time was that?
MR. ROURKE: Around two-thirty. Maybe a little after.
PRITCHARD: What was the reason for the visit?
MR. ROURKE: I needed to borrow some money. Just gas money. I was short.
PRITCHARD: Did you see Brittany Lynn during that visit?
MR. ROURKE: No. She wasn’t there yet. I didn’t see her.
PRITCHARD: How long were you there?
MR. ROURKE: Ten minutes. Maybe less.
PRITCHARD: Where did you go after leaving?
MR. ROURKE: I went into town. Ran a couple errands.
PRITCHARD: We have a receipt placing you approximately twenty miles away shortly after that.
MR. ROURKE: Yeah. That’s right. That’s what I’m saying. I wasn’t there.
PRITCHARD: Can you describe your relationship with Brittany?
MR. ROURKE: I was her uncle. Not like real uncle, but family. I saw her at holidays and stuff.
PRITCHARD: Did you spend time alone with her?
MR. ROURKE: No. Not really. Not like that.
PRITCHARD: Not like what?
MR. ROURKE: Everyone knows what happened to her. Everyone’s talking about it. I never touched a kid. Never.
PRITCHARD: Just the same, your name has come up in several conversations since the disappearance.
MR. ROURKE: I figured it would.
PRITCHARD: Why do you think that is?
MR. ROURKE: I don’t know. I’ve never done nothing.
PRITCHARD: Is there anyone you think might have taken Brittany?
MR. ROURKE: I don’t know. Maybe Trent.
PRITCHARD: Mr. Wilburn?
MR. ROURKE: Everybody knows how he is. He don’t work. He’s got a record. He’s around all day. That’s not normal. He lives right down the street.
PRITCHARD: Do you associate with Mr. Wilburn?
MR. ROURKE: Sometimes. We hang out. That don’t mean I trust him.
PRITCHARD: Has he ever acted inappropriately around Brittany?
MR. ROURKE: I don’t know that. I’m just saying, if you’re looking, that’s where I’d look.
PRITCHARD: Is there anything else you want to add?
MR. ROURKE: I wouldn’t hurt a kid. And I wasn’t there.
