MS. LYNN: Crystal Ann Lynn.
PRITCHARD: And your address?
MS. LYNN: 139 Hollow Bend Road.
PRITCHARD: And your relationship to Brittany Lynn?
MS. LYNN: She’s my daughter. She’s six years old. She’s my only child.
PRITCHARD: What school does Brittany attend?
MS. LYNN: Boone Ridge Elementary. First grade.
PRITCHARD: What time does she normally arrive home from school?
MS. LYNN: The bus drops her off around 2:45. Sometimes a few minutes earlier, sometimes a few minutes later.
PRITCHARD: Where is the bus stop located?
MS. LYNN: Down at the corner where Hollow Bend meets the gravel turnout. It’s about… maybe a three-minute walk from here. My mom watches from the house.
PRITCHARD: Today, who was home when Brittany was due back?
MS. LYNN: My mother. She stays here while I’m at work.
PRITCHARD: And where do you work?
MS. LYNN: I cook at Grey’s Roost. I start at seven-thirty and usually finish by four.
PRITCHARD: What time did your mother call you?
MS. LYNN: Right around three. Maybe a few minutes after. She said Brittany hadn’t come home yet.
PRITCHARD: What was your reaction?
MS. LYNN: At first I thought the bus might’ve been late. Or Brittany had stopped to talk to someone. She does that sometimes.
PRITCHARD: Talk to who?
MS. LYNN: Neighbors. Mrs. Tilda mostly. Sometimes she’ll stop if someone’s in their yard.
PRITCHARD: Is that typical behavior?
MS. LYNN: Yes, sir. She’s friendly. She likes to talk.
PRITCHARD: Did your mother go down to the bus stop?
MS. LYNN: She said she stepped out onto the porch and looked toward the road. I don’t think she walked all the way down.
PRITCHARD: After she called you, what did you do?
MS. LYNN: I came straight home.
PRITCHARD: Approximately what time did you arrive?
MS. LYNN: Around 3:20. Maybe 3:30.
PRITCHARD: What did you do upon arrival?
MS. LYNN: Checked Mrs. Wilkes’ house. She hadn’t seen Brittany.** She had seen Brittany. I checked the yard. I called her name.
**Correction to transcript noted on March 15th.
PRITCHARD: Was Brittany carrying anything when she left for school this morning?
MS. LYNN: Her pink backpack. Same one she always uses.
PRITCHARD: What was she wearing?
MS. LYNN: Pink leggings. A red shirt with little flowers on it. Sneakers. White ones with Velcro straps.
PRITCHARD: When was the last time you saw Brittany?
MS. LYNN: This morning before she caught the bus. She gave me a hug before she left.
PRITCHARD: Did she seem upset about anything?
MS. LYNN: No. She was excited about her spelling test.
PRITCHARD: Has she ever wandered off or hidden as a game?
MS. LYNN: No. She’s not like that. She knows she’s supposed to come straight home.
PRITCHARD: Has there been anyone recently you did not recognize in the area? Any unfamiliar vehicles?
MS. LYNN: No. We all know each other here.
PRITCHARD: Everyone?
MS. LYNN: It’s a small road.
PRITCHARD: I need to ask about Brittany’s father. What’s his name?
MS. LYNN: Josh Peyton.
PRITCHARD: Any disagreements recently between you and Mr. Peyton?
MS. LYNN: No. We get along fine.
PRITCHARD: Financial disagreements? Custody disputes?
MS. LYNN: No, sir.
PRITCHARD: Is there anyone you would not want Brittany speaking with on Hollow Bend Road?
MS. LYNN: No. I mean… no. It’s just neighbors.
PRITCHARD: Has anyone ever made you uncomfortable regarding Brittany?
MS. LYNN: No.
PRITCHARD: Is there anything you have not told us that might help locate her?
MS. LYNN: No. I’ve told you everything. I don’t know where she would have gone.
